New Mexico authorities are reporting the stabbing death of 17-year old Jose de la Paz at the local Cesar Chavez Community Charter High School yesterday allegedly by another teen screaming racial slurs.
Reports indicated that de la Paz had an ongoing dispute with the other student who is also 17-years old and remains unidentified. The fight between the two students started inside the school and spilled outside to the parking lot right after school ended.
Once outside the school building witnesses say the victim endured racial slurs and then was stabbed two times in the chest. De la Paz died during surgery.
The teen suspect is being questioned as well as his father. The police are also investigating if the killing was racially motivated.
