A West Palm beach man remained in jail Tuesday after he and another man began fighting over who is a “better Mexican.”
An unidentified 35-year-old man began told police he and his friends were drinking at his house when 26-year-old Rudy “El Caballo” Yhoan pulled up in his car, got out and said he was a better Mexican than they were.” He then pointed a gun at the group and threatened to shoot them, apparently “for no apparent reason” according to the police report. Yhoan continued to shout about being a “better Mexican.”
A few weeks after that incident, the unidentified man says he was riding his bike when Yhoan pulled up in a car behind him, shouting, “I’m going to run you over.”
The man says he managed to jump from his bike before Yhoan could run him over. However, before he could get up, Yhoan and two additional men began kicking him in the head. The group then ran off, leaving the man injured on the ground.
According to police, when officers arrived, they found the victim with swelling around his right eye and multiple cuts on his face.
On Sunday, Yhoan was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and one count of aggravated battery resulting in bodily harm.
Yhoan remains in Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
