The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in Siesta Key Florida for pretending to be a police officer.
Oscar Mondeja, 39, was walking along the Siesta Key Beach pretending to be an officer and even claiming the dog he was walking with was a police dog. Under the guise of a law enforcement officials, Mondeja was ordering people off the beach. However, when one of the people he ordered away asked him for his credentials, he fumbled and couldn’t come up with anything.
The man who asked for the credentials was actually an off-duty Venice police officer, and he called the police. Mondeja reportedly fought with an officer and while in custody in the back of a police vehicle, attempted to kick out the window.
Mondeja was arrested and charged with impersonating an officer, resisting an officer, and having a dog on the beach.
