A man was arrested and charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor, after a pre-teen entered a hospital complaining of stomach pains.
Upon medical examination, it was discovered that a 12-year-old Albuquerque, NM girl was in fact 12 weeks pregnant.
Capt. Aric Wheeler, of the Albuquerque Police Department told local news station KOAT, “It actually sickens you as an individual to feel that somebody would find a 12-year-old female attractive in that way.”
Alejandro Ortiz-Badillo, 28, has been charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor, after admitted he had sex with his girlfriend’s daughter. He reportedly told police he had a consensual sexual relationship with the girl when her mother wasn’t home.
However, a relationship like this cannot be consensual, as the state’s legal age of consent in 16 and the other person cannot be more than two years older.
The girl was admitted into the hospital on Monday. That same day, Ortiz-Badillo was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County jail.
According to court documents, the victim claims Ortiz-Badillo had sexual intercourse with her more than once, with the last time being more than two months ago. The girl also said she never told her family of the assault.
Due to information that Ortiz-Badillo may try to flee to Mexico, he was determined to be “a flight risk due to his connections in Mexico” and that he is a danger to the girl and her family “based on the nature of the allegations.”
His bond was set at $100,000, cash only.
