A man in Mexico was arrested Tuesday for allegedly killing and barbecuing his neighbor’s dogs.
According to Juarez police, they were called about a fight in the middle of the street. When officers arrived they found 39-year-old Ulises Rodela fighting with one of his neighbors.
The neighbor told police Rodela stole his three dogs. He claimed he took them to a nearby animal shelter after he found them wandering in the street. However, when officers checked with the shelter, they had no record of the dogs being brought in.
Rodela eventually admitted he stole, slaughtered, and planned to cook his neighbor’s three dogs over a barbecue.
It was not clear whether Rodela planned to cook the dogs for himself or whether he was going to sell the meat.
Police said they would be checking various food stands for dog meat.
