Police say a Delaware man attempted to avoid being caught with drugs by hiding them in his prosthetic leg.
On Friday, police in Wilmington responding to a report of a disorderly person when they came across 51-year-old Jose Santiago just before 1:15 p.m.
Santiago was standing in the street yelling obscenities and appeared to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and while he was being booked officers noticed he had outstanding warrants.
A search revealed Santiago was also in possession of both marijuana and crack cocaine. He had reportedly hidden the drugs in his prosthetic leg. He had 2.8 grams of marijuana and 2.5 grams of crack.
Santiago has been charged with disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and possession of crack cocaine.
The outstanding arrest were issued by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and Justice of the Peace Court 20.
