Photo: Cesar Garcia Steals Ambulance After Release from Jail
An Arizona man was taken back to jail mere hours after being released this week.
Authorities allege Cesar Garcia, 33, was arrested Sunday morning for having an open beer at a store in Chandler, AZ.
He was booked for a misdemeanor and released, telling authorities he would walk home. The walk must have been longer than he initially realized however, because as he was leaving, Garcia decided to steal an ambulance parked outside the police station.
Garcia drove the vehicle to his Guadalupe home and when approached by police became combative and tried to punch and kick the officers.
Officers were eventually able to restrain him and following the altercation, he was taken to a nearby hospital where his aggressive behavior continued and he reportedly spit in a nurse’s face.
After his short hospital visit, Garcia was taken back to jail and booked on charges of unlawful flight from law enforcement, resisting arrest, theft of transportation, aggravated DUI, and criminal damage.
Police say no one was in the ambulance when Garcia allegedly stole it.
