Police in Mexico say a man has been arrested after attempting to rob two banks, using his skateboard as the getaway “car”.

Sergio Ledesma was taken in to custody after police say he tried to rob two Mexico City banks, though failing at both attempts.

Over the weekend, police say Ledesma skated over to bank, and whispered his intent to a teller who ultimately ignored him. After is brilliant method failed, he moved on to a second bank and tried again. This time the teller acknowledged him, but also managed to trip the silent alarm.

While still waiting for the money, Ledesma was greeting by officers.

Not too long after, Ledesma was arrested and was added to the growing list of skateboarding bank thieves.

Skateboard thieves have sprung up in Florida, Pennsylvania, and California in recent years, known having been entirely successful. Some manage to actually get away with money, unlike Ledesma, but all get caught eventually.
