Rafael Leao of Miami-Dade is accused of choking his 4-year-old daughter during a supervised visit and after losing custody due to child molestation charges.
Leao, 30-year-old, was visiting his daughter inside a family services center with a social worker present, it was the social worker that heard the screams of the little girl “He’s choking me!” Apparently the social worker went to answer a phone when the incident happened.
Leao had lost custody due to sexual abuse charges and was to undergo parenting classes, seek counseling and stay on his psychiatric medications according to a Miami Herald report.
The little girl, after being interviewed by police that were called to investigate, also alleges her father tried to fondle her.
The Department of Children & Families is asking Judge Maria Sampedro-Iglesia to reconsider her decision allowing Leao, who is bipolar, to visit with his daughter.
