Estrella Carrera, 26, should have been enjoying the happiest time of her life with her Friday wedding just concluded but instead she was found stabbed to death in a bathtub, still wearing her wedding dress.
The Burbank, Illinois newlywed and mother of a 9-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son failed to show up to pick up her children the day after her wedding, as planned. That is when Carrera’s family started to worry and went to look for her.
The bride’s family was not able to get anyone to answer the door, not even the groom who remains unnamed and is the father of her youngest child. On Sunday afternoon Burbank police entered her apartment and found her stabbed body in a dry bathtub.
The last time everyone saw her was when she left her wedding celebration at 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
