The Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Ministry announced the postponement of the Latin American Summit, due to the alleged health problems of the host, Hugo Chávez.  This announcement was made right after photos and videos were published on state media vehicles, of an apparent alive and well Chavez recuperating in Cuba.  ¿Que Pasa? con Hugo???

The 3rd Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean on Integration and Development (CALC) was scheduled to take place on July 5-6 in Margarita Island, northern Venezuela, and would have taken place on the 200th anniversary of Venezuela’s independence from Spain.

Heads of state, including Brazil’s Dilma Rousseff, Ecuador’s Rafael Correa, Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos and Argentina’s Cristina Fernández had all planned to attend.

The summit will be postponed to a later date, likely, sometime during the second quarter of the year.

Chávez left Venezuela on June 10 to reportedly undergo an emergency surgery, and has kept out of political, media, and social media radars with the exception of the video released on Tuesday night, which shows President Chávez relaxing and walking alongside former dictator Fidel Castro.
