Latin America Protests over Imprisonment of WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange

Latin Americans all over are showing their support to the WikiLeaks cause, and rally peacefully to demand transparency, justice, and the liberation of Julian Assange.

The Spanish-Language website “Free WikiLeaks” reported several rallies to protest the incarceration of Assange, as well as for “the re-establishment of the WikiLeaks (wikileaks.org) Internet domain,” and the restoration of Visa and MasterCard credit card services to enable the “freedom to move money” because no one has “proved Assange’s guilt,” or charged WikiLeaks with any crime.

Peaceful demonstrations took place in the Spanish cities of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, as well as Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Lima and Sao Paulo.

Assange is being held in a UK jail while waiting for a hearing next week, where he plans to fight a request by Sweden to extradite him to face sex-crime accusations there.
