Six people, including a child, died when a small bus crashed on a highway in Norte de Santander, a province on Colombia’s border with Venezuela, the highway patrol said.
The accident occurred on the highway that links Cucuta, the capital of Norte de Santander, to Sardinata, Norte de Santander highway patrol commander Capt. Fabio Yañez said.
“Police were sent to the scene to recover the vehicle and the bodies of the people who, unfortunately, died in this incident,” Yañez said.
The driver lost control of the bus, went off the road and ended up in a ravine, residents told Colombian media.
