Lady Gaga commissioned a prominent New York jeweler to build a gold-plated wheelchair so she could get around after a Feb. 20 operation to repair an injured hip.

Ken Borochov, a designer with the firm Mordekai, equipped the 24-karat chair with a leather seat and removable leather canopy.

The seat can also recline 180 degrees.

“I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair but am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen,” Borochov told the New York Post.

The stylist, whose client list includes Kanye West, Cher Lloyd and Nicki Minaj, said he had only a week to complete the project.

A severe joint inflammation called synovitis forced Lady Gaga to cancel the remaining concerts of “The Born This Way Ball” world tour, which began almost a year ago in South Korea and included more than 100 performances.
