Labor of Love: Argentine Man Fulfills Late Wife Dream Guitar Garden

Using over 7,000 cypress and eucalyptus trees, Pedro Martín Ureta built a giant guitar visible from space on his property.

Pedro and his late wife Graciela, had an ambitious plan for the landscaping in their property, but as it often happens, other priorities took precedence, and the few drawings and blueprints got put in the back burner.

“My wife passed in ’77, at the time I did not have the heart or money to complete the project.” remembers Pedro. “But I felt I knew I had to complete the project she so yearned for, this guitar.”

Pedro dug out the drawings and designs that Graciela had been working on before passing, and with his four children begun planting cypress trees to create the outline, and eucalyptus, in six neat rows across an enormous fret-board.
