Mexican authorities reported today that they have captured Manual Garibay in Mexicali, Mexico located in the state of Baja California. Garibay’s arrest is considered key in dismantling the leadership of the Sinaloa drug cartel. The Sinaloa drug cartel is headed by Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman.
Manuel Garibay was enlisted by Guzman to be the liaison between the cartel and the Colombian cocaine suppliers. Garibay was being sought not only as a key drug trafficker but also for his alleged involvement in kidnappings and murders.
