The often maligned, soon-to-be ex-spouse of Khloe Karadashian is heading to Spain to play some basketball.
Lamar Odom last played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2012-13 season and has been a free agent since. He has been trying to play some pro ball for sometime and apparently found a home even if it’s a temporary one. In his professional career he played for the Los Angeles Lakers for seven years and then briefly for the Dallas Mavericks.
Odom has faced negative press on his alleged crack cocaine habit, extra-martial affairs and run-ins with police. His wife filed for divorce this past December.
The 34-year-old will be playing for Laboral Kutxa in Vitoria-Gasteiz under a two-month contract with a possibility of an extension. He is expected to make his debut this weekend. Laboral Kutxa is part of the Spanish league, which is part of the Euroleague. Laboral Kutxa needs all the help it can get it is currently in last place in the Euroleague standings.
Vitoria-Gasteiz is part of Spain’s Basque country located in northern Spain. It is the second largest Basque city in the country. The team plays in the Fernando Buesa Arena and is named after its sponsor the Basque bank Laboral Kutxa.
The Spanish team has two other U.S. players on its roster center Lamont Hamilton and guard Walter Hodge.
