Canadian actor and musician, Cory Monteith, best know for role as Finn Hudson in ‘Glee’ has apparently been found dead in a Vancouver hotel at the age of 31.
Vancouver authorities are investigating the cause of death but do not suspect foul play. Authorities believe he had been dead for several hours before his body was discovered. According to sources the Glee star missed his checkout time at the Fairmont Pacific Rim and hotel staff went to investigate his room on the 21st floor.
The death announcement was made at a late night press conference though his body is believed to have been found on Saturday afternoon. Authorities are reporting Monteith checked into the hotel on July 6. Reportedly the actor was with other people on Friday night but was seen in security video returning to his hotel alone. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, July 15.
Monteith had been in rehab earlier this year and had spoken openly about his struggles with substance abuse since the age of 13. Monteith had been dating ‘Glee’ co-sar Lea Michele since early 2012. On the show the couple, Rachel and Finn, were engaged.
The actor who was born in Calgary, Alberta Canada and had been with ‘Glee’ since its debut in 2009. This year he had two film projects in the works: ‘All the Wrong Reasons’ and ‘McCanick’.
