Early morning reports indicate Patriots’ tight end Aaron Hernandez has been led out of his home in handcuffs by authorities.  He was taken into custody and put into the back of a police car.

The 23-year-old has been under investigation for his potential involvement in the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a friend, whose body was found more than a week ago a mile away from Hernandez home.

Hernandez was dressed wearing red shorts and sneakers when he was escorted out of his $1.3 million North Attleboro, MA home this morning.

Police have not made any announcement as to what charges Hernandez faces.  Authorities had drawn an arrest warrant for obstruction of justice against Hernandez for destroying key evidence at his home but the warrant was never issued.  Massachusetts Police have been at the Hernandez home searching for evidence numerous times.  Much speculation has been made about Hernandez’ behavior and possible evidence tampering as the murder investigation proceeded.  It is believed the two men were friends connected by the women in their life. Hernandez’ finance Shayanna Jenkins’ sister was dating Lloyd.  Unconfirmed reports put the men together the day Lloyd is believed to have died – together at a Boston bar.

The Puerto Rican tight-end signed a contract last year with the Patriots valued at $40 million.  He has played for the team for three seasons, averaging 58 catches per season.
