Photo: Cory Monteith Dies of Heroin, Alcohol Combo
The Vancouver coroner has just announced the initial findings of the autopsy on ‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith. The 31-year-old apparently died of a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol.
Montieth best known for his role as Finn Hudson was found dead at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel on July 14 after missing his noon checkout time. The actor had checked into the hotel on July 6.
Monteith had been in rehab earlier this year and had spoken openly about his struggles with substance abuse since the age of 13. Monteith had been dating ‘Glee’ co-star Lea Michele since early 2012 and the couple traveled to Puerto Vallerta, Mexico after his rehab stint. On the show the couple, Rachel and Finn, were engaged.
The reports notes “The investigation into this death by the BC Coroners Service is continuing, and no other details are available at this time. It should be noted that at this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith’s death was anything other than a most-tragic accident. When the investigation is concluded, a Coroners Report will be issued.”
The actor who was born in Calgary, Alberta Canada and had been with ‘Glee’ since its debut in 2009. This year he had two film projects in the works: ‘All the Wrong Reasons’ and ‘McCanick’.
