New Mexico authorities in Albuquerque are investigating a multiple stabbing incident at the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic church.

The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. local time right after communion was given and when a man yelled “Fake Preacher!”  The man proceeded to stab the church choir members.  It is believed the stabbings occurred during the Church’s Spanish mass.

Early reports indicate four people were stabbed and two were critically injured.

The church is located at 5712 Paradise Blvd., in Albuquerque seating approximately 1,200 church goers and is considered one of the areas megachurches.  The church was expanded in 2011 to accommodate the fast growing, diverse population on Albuquerque’s west side.

Some reports indicate the suspect was apprehended by several parishioners and is believed to be in his mid-20s.

This is a developing story.
