The Chicago Blackhawks have advanced to the Stanley Cup finals after a double overtime 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Kings.
The Blackhawks will face the Boston Bruins after winning Game 5 of the Western Conference championship thanks to Patrick Kane’s third goal of the game during the second overtime period.
The Blackhawks came into the Conference defeating the Minnesota Wild (4-1) and the Detroit Red Wings (4-3) before facing the Kings. The series with the Kings ended with a 3-2 victory for the Blackhawks.
During the regular season the Blackhawks had the best record of 36-7.
The first game of the Stanley cup finals are on Wednesday here in Chicago at 7 p.m. Games number 2, 5 and 7 are also scheduled to be played in Chicago.
