Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes filmed in Puerto Rico four videos of songs from his new disc “Loco de Amor,” with which he will launch his new world tour next week in his native land.
In an interview with Efe before shooting the videos, directed by Kacho Lopez, the global superstar said he felt “very happy” about filming for the first time ever on the Caribbean island.
“First, I wanted to work with Kacho, and second, I wanted to take advantage of that and shoot my first videos in Puerto Rico,” said Juan Esteban Aristizabal Vasquez, 42, before filming in the San Juan suburb of Bayamon.
Juanes said he decided to do the videos in Puerto Rico after seeing Lopez’s direction of Calle 13’s music video “El Aguante” in Buenos Aires.
The Colombian artist and Lopez met up later in Miami to exchange ideas about making just one video, though as they talked the possibility came up of shooting four.
“I like the aesthetics of his work and his way of working. We talked and got the idea of making a short film,” Juanes said.
Juanes kicks off his new world tour next Tuesday in the Colombian city of Monteria and will continue on to other cities in Colombia before heading off to Mexico.
