Photo: Jessica Sanchez after American Idol
Jessica Sanchez has been very busy since “American Idol” finished. The AI finalist performed a heart-stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in front of the U.S. Capital this weekend in honor of Memorial Day.
Sanchez, who came in second in the AI finals losing out to Phillip Phillips, is already planning her post-AI career announcing exclusively to Huffington Post her plans to record a Spanish-language album. As the second place winner Sanchez is not guaranteed a recording contract which was the practice in the past for American Idol finalists.
The 16-year-old singing wonder who is half-Filipino, half-Mexican credits the support of the Latino community for her amazing rise to the top of American Idol.
