Rapper, business mogul and husband of Beyonce – JayZ – is soon going to be saying ‘baseball been ‘berry berry’ good to me’ as he enters the world of sports representation with MLB as his first foray.

The rapper’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, has just announced it is opening a sports agency in partnership with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).  Roc Nations Sports, as the agency will be known, has already signed up Dominican-American baseball powerhouse Robinson Cano.

The agency will represent sports talent both on and off the field.  This mean we might be seeing Cano, a four-time All-Star, on advertising campaigns here and in the Americas.

Meanwhile Pro Football Talk is suggesting that NY Giants wide receiver, Victor Cruz could be Jay-Z’s next client.  Both men are friends.

Both Cano and Cruz are in or soon to be in contract renegotiation discussions.  Cano, a New York Yankee, is in the final year of his $57 million contract.  The CAA Sports’ division on their own, has negotiated $1.1 billion worth of deals that includes the contract of soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, according to ESPN.
