Cartoonists and other artists from around the world are participating in the 17th International Biennial for Graphic Humor Art in San Antonio de los Baños.

An opening parade on Sunday led people to the Parque del Humor where the Municipal Band played “La Engañadora” by Enrique Jarrin and “Rompiendo la Rutina” by Aniceto Diaz.

More than 20 artists painted the traditional collective wall, which had as its starting point a work by the late well-known cartoonist Tomas Rafael Rodriguez Zayas (Tomy).

The members of the jury also participated in the opening of the exhibition “Votacion Unanime”.

More than 150 works from 21 countries are competing in political satire, photography, personal caricature, humoristic cartoon strip and general humor in this event that goes beyond its original host and boosts collateral activities to stimulate creation.

The agenda includes the opening of the collective exhibition “La Ubre del Humor” in the Development Center of Visual Arts, Old Havana; the symposium “Points of View”; the exhibition “A Puro Premio” by the prize-winning artist Ares y Boligan and an awards ceremony.
