Photo: Incredible Dolphin Rescue in Arraial do Cabo, Brazil
A beach at Arraial do Cabo in Brazil was the sight of a worrisome and extraordinary scene this week when a pod of dolphins beached themselves.
It appears that about 30 dolphins were seen swimming close to the beach when someone with a camera began filming. Less than a minute into the video, the dolphins are seen getting stuck in the sand and the waves rush over them.
A number of people on the beach quickly run to help the dolphins back to sea, and in a matter of minutes all dolphins were back in deeper water and hopefully safe.
The event is believed to have happened on March 5 at around 8 a.m. in Arraial do Cabo, about 100 miles north of Rio de Janeiro.
With all dolphins returned to the sea, cheers and applause erupt on the beach, and the remarkable video has since gone viral.
