Arizona is estimated to have 283,000 illegal immigrants while Illinois totals 432,000. Illinois undocumented immigrants tend to come from Europe and Asia while native Mexicans make up 90% of Arizona’s undocumented immigrants. The impact of the cultural variance of the immigrants is very clearly played out in politics. In Illinois, Republican Senate nominee ( Kirk) as well as the Republican gubernatorial candidate (Brady)rarely mentions immigration. Their Democratic challengers on the other hand have expressed outrage at the Arizona SB 1070 bill.
