The always controversial Swedish footballer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has some unkind words for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Recently the hot-tempered striker told an Argentine news source, ‘Messi may have four [Ballon d’Ors], but I don’t have to get on a box to buy a chocolate bar in a vending machine.’
Though he is shorter than most, it clearly hasn’t been a very much of a disadvantage for Barca’s Messi, many believe to be one of, if not the greatest soccer player of all time.
Ibrahimovic’s trash talk did not end with Mess either, as the Swede took on Real Madrid’s Ronaldo, saying, ‘He’s a privileged spectator, who only watches how Messi receives all his awards. He doesn’t deserve to be in the top three, there are at least ten people better than him.’
In other Messi news:
Sunday, Barca set a new record for the best start to a Spanish soccer league season with its 3-1 win over Malaga. Messi scored for the 9th consecutive game. He currently has 28 points for this La Liga season. Last month, the soccer star broke Gerd Mueller’s long-standing scoring record, by ending the 2012 calendar year with 91 goals. Mueller’s record was 85.
On Monday, it was announced Messi’s football playing cousin, Maxi Biancucchi, had agreed to a one-year deal with Brazil’s Vitoria. The midfielder spent the last two years playing with the Paraguayan club Olimpia while on loan from Cruz Azul on Mexico.
