Hurricane Rina that is barreling its way toward the popular Mexican resort city of Cozumel is going to impact more than a dozen cruise ships in the area.

Cruise ship lines like Carnival and Celebrity Cruises have already announced itinerary changes for this week.  Carnival has rerouted eight ships while Celebrity diverted one of their Mexican cruise ships.

The Celebrity Millennium will bypass its Grand Cayman stop today and added a stop at Nassau.

Travelers on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean that also have Cozumel as a port stop have not announced travel itinerary changes.  Royal Caribbean’s ‘Allure of the Seas’ and the world’s largest cruise ship is due to stop in Cozumel this Friday.

Mexico coastal resort cities have already issued evacuation orders and closed schools.  Rina currently has sustained winds of 110 mph.
