Venezuela’s controversial President Hugo Chavez made his first public appearance since returning from his last cancer treatment in Cuba.
Chavez was speaking at a cabinet meeting where his address was televised on national television. The ailing President looked the best he has in some time and has grown back all his hair. He was his usual verbose and confrontational self during the two hour televised governmental meeting.
He told his political adversaries that are seeking to replace him as President to prepare themselves for an ‘unprecedented’ defeat in the October elections. He reassured his constituents that he plans on seeking reelection and will start his relection campaign shortly.
Chavez avoided touching on the subject of his health, his cancer prognosis and why he has not been seen in public often. This is only his third appearance since mid-April.
