Police are looking for any information that may be related to the killing of two dogs in a California suburb.
Thursday morning, Yolo County Sheriff’s deputes were called by a woman who found the body of a headless chihuahua in her car in the Knights Landing neighborhood.
Ashley Immel, 20, called authorities after finding the headless chihuahua on its back in the driver’s seat of her car. The dog’s stomach was also cut open. Police believe the dog was not killed in the car, judging by the lack of blood found.
As deputies spoke with Immel they learned this was not the first time she had discovered a dead dog on her property.
About two weeks ago, Immel said she found the head of a terrier in her boat.
Police believe the two incidence are likely related, but a motive is still being determined.
Immel believes past fights may be a cause for the gruesome animal deaths, telling CBS Sacramento, ‘No one likes to get beat up by a girl.’
Authorities are asking anyone with any information to call the Yolo County Sheriff’s Animal Services Section at (530) 669-5827.
