As we reported a week or so ago, a debate emerged in the US House of Representatives between Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner Pedro Pierluisi and Chicago Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez over the Congressman’s right to address issues affecting Puerto Rico on the floor of Congress. (See Related Stories)
This was in response to Congressman Gutierrez strong condemnation of what he viewed a human rights abuses regarding the treatment of students and others protesting the situation at the University of Puerto Rico.
