The state of Texas has taken its pro-gun stance to another level with a bill that will allow college students to bring concealed weapons to class all in the name of self-defense.
The state Senate is getting ready to pass a firearms bills that would affect 38 public universities, 500,00 students and hundreds of professors. Governor Rick Perry, a staunch gun advocate, has confirmed he will sign the bill when it passes.
Texas would become the second state in the country to allow guns on college campuses, Utah was the first. The law is not without its detractors, the University of Texas President, William Powers, is in opposition.
