Photo: FOUND: Missing Florida Girl, Benita Rodriguez Was She Abused?
Over the weekend, Philadelphia police were called when a landlord discovered four mentally handicapped people were being chained in the sub-basement of one of his buildings.
Three people have been arrested in connection to the awful crime. Gregory Thomas, Eddie “the Rev. Ed” Wright, and Linda Ann Weston, who is believed to be the ringleader, are being accused of locking the victims in what is being described a “horror house”. It is suspected Thomas, Wright, and Weston imprisoned the victims to collect their social security benefits.
Luckily, the four victims, once found, were taken to the hospital in stable condition, and the families of three have been notified. They are currently residing in a mental health facility in North Parkside Avenue in West Philadelphia.
However, police now believe the case of missing 15-year-old Florida girl, Benita Rodriguez, may be related as she was last seen with Thomas’ son, Gregory Thomas Jr.
Rodriguez was last seen on July 4 at her West Palm Beach, Florida home with Thomas Jr.
Around 11 p.m. Monday, authorities told local news reporters that Rodriguez had been found.
Her mother, Juana Rodriguez, told a local ABC affiliate, “I just want to hold her and love her. I just want to hold her.”
So far, Linda Weston, 51, has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and other offenses, with bail set at $2.5 million.
