Photo: Former Menudo Singer, Draco Rosa talks about his battle with cancer
Former Menudo singer, and producer of some of Ricky Martin’s hits, told the El Nuevo Dia he is “happy to be alive” after going through months of cancer treatment.
Draco Rosa, a singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico underwent six months of a controversial cancer treatment after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
The singer said he learned “a thousand things” about himself and that the illness has changed his life and allowed him to understand it better. He also stated that his wife Angela has been “incredible and amazing” throughout the treatment.
Rosa turns 42 next week, and said he goes to a Catholic church almost every day, whether they be near his home or his son’s school.
His cancer treatment in Houston, Texas followed Dr. Stanislaw R. Burzynski’s method, and remains controversial because it uses medicines allegedly not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and forgoes the usual treatments of radiation and chemotherapy.
Rosa was the producer of fellow former Menudo member Ricky Martin’s hits “Maria” and “La Copa de la Vida” (The Cup of Life).
