The Cuban-American Republican Senator Marco Rubio may soon be known as the hardest-working man around. The junior Senator from Florida has agreed to co-teach a college political science class twice a week while the Senate is not in session.
He will be doing his teaching at Florida International University (FIU) which is located in Miami and is “Miami’s first and only four-year public research university.”
He will co-teach with two other professors on Monday and Fridays and is expected to earn $24,000 a year. Teaching college courses is not new for Rubio who taught at FIU from 2008-10.
Rubio went through the appropriate channels and obtained permission from the Senate Ethics Committee and the salary does not exceed the $26,955 cap on outside income earned.
