A village in Spain had been without children for 45 years, but that recently changed when a couple moved to the village so their child could grow up with her grandparents.

Beatriz and Iker recently moved to the small, and shrinking, village of Los Giles in Spain’s Almeria province.

Los Giles had not had a birth in 45 years, primarily due to the fact that the village of only 60 is mostly elderly men and women.

By giving birth to baby girl Ainara three weeks ago, Beatriz and Iker have reportedly brought great joy to the village.

Beatriz says nearly everyone in the village has gotten to hold Ainara, and is glad her daughter will get to “grow up close to nature.”

Prior to Ainara’s birth, no baby had ben born in the small village since 1968.
