The family of murdered Mexican mom, Marisela Escobedo, has fled Mexico and is hiding somewhere in the United States, probably in El Paso, Texas.
Escobedo was shot execution style in front of the governmental offices of Chihuahua as she was protesting the murder of her 16-year-old daughter Rubi. Hundreds have been protesting her murder in Ciudad Juarez as another sign of lawlessness in Mexico. The renowned activist and justice seeker’s family since then has been the target of threats and violence.
Escobedo’s finance’s business was torched and his brother kidnapped, while her funeral was being held. Then later in the week a supporter of Escobedo was gun down in front of his home.
Marisela’s brother, two sons and granddaughter are said to be hiding according to Mexican government officials. There have been no comments on this from the U.S. State Department of Department of Justice.
