Falcons’ Tight End, Tony Gonzalez Makes 2011 Pro Bowl

The roster for the 2011 Pro Bowl has been released, and the Atlanta Falcons’ Tony Gonzalez has been named to the NFC team.

In what will be Gonzalez’s 8th Pro Bowl appearance, the Falcon’s tight end will be an alternate behind starter Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys.

With more than 1,000 receptions in his 14-year career and 87 touchdowns, Gonzalez began his professional career in 1997 when he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez stayed with the Chiefs until 2008. He was signed to the Atlanta Falcons in 2009.

So far this year, Gonzalez has helped the Falcon’s win the National Football Conference South. The team could certainly see a division title and advance to the playoffs.

The Pro Bowl 2011 will be played in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 30th.

Born to a Mexican mother, this Mexican-American 34-year-old footballer, is the father of two children, and has recently admitted to thoughts of retirement, which this could make this Gonzalez’s last Pro Bowl.
