Mexican-American actress and producer Eva Longoria is set to produce a soap opera for ABC based on the popular Colombian telenovela called “Pura Sangre”.
The repackaged telenovela-turned-soap opera will be called “Trust” and will be produced by the Latina’s production company. According to Deadline the hour long show focuses on “David Montenegro, a humble attorney in Miami who is given the chance to become the Trustee of the Lagos estate. David takes the job to try and rekindle a romance with his first and only love, Rosella Lagos – who is now engaged to another man – but before long, he finds himself sucked into her dysfunctional family and discovers that, in a world of so much money, the only true currency is trust.”
The original Colombian version ran for 126 episodes for two years throughout Latin America starting in 2007.
ABC was the home of “Desperate Housewives” where Longoria played Gabrielle Solis from 2004-2012.
Longoria, 38, is also executive producing Lifetime’s ‘Devious Maids’ that was recently picked up for a second season. When Longoria is not busy on Hollywood matters she is campaigning for the National Latino American Museum or advocating for humanitarian causes.
