El Museo del Barrio is one of the leading Hispanic cultural institutions presenting and preserving the art and culture of Puerto Ricans and all Latin Americans in the U.S. This year’s gala which is becoming a must-go-to event, honored the work of Peruvian photographer Mario Testino and his 30 year career. This comes on the heels of Testino photographing the royal newlyweds for their engagement photos seen around the world.
The gala, with tickets starting at a $1,000 each, was held at Cipriani’s and saw moguls and movie stars attend like Josh Hartnett. Many of Testino’s beautiful subjects were present like Academy award winner Kate Winslet, models Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls.
Also seen honoring El Museo were Anna Wintour of Vogue and designer Donatella Versace. This glamour filled event was held to benefit the Museums numerous public and educational programs.
