Jefferson Montero, an Ecuadorian midfielder with Mexico’s Morelia, said he wanted to return to play in Spain, where he was a member of Real Betis from 2009 to 2012.
“My desire has always been to return to Europe,” Montero told reporters.
The midfielder, who played in Mexico’s Apertura tournament, said he was “happy and good with Morelia,” but he acknowledged that if another opportunity presented itself to return to Europe, “you have to take it.”
“I have to wait a few days to see what happens” in 2013, Montero said.
