A Chicago woman has been ordered to wear an electric monitoring device after being arrested for assaulting her husband with cupcakes.
After a verbal altercation escalated, Arturo Montesdeoca called the police alleging that his wife Dawn was attacking him. When officers arrived at the couple’s Brighton Park home, they saw Arturo covered in frosting.
He claims that when the argument turned physical, his wife began beating him over the head, before throwing cupcakes at her husband. According to the police report, Mrs. Montesdeoca managed to land a few of the tasty torpedoes, as her husband had frosting on his head and chest.
The husband reportedly told the officers he feared for his life, and after she verbally assaulted the officers, she was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic battery.
Sunday morning, Dawn Montesdeoca was ordered by Cook County Circuit Judge Adam D. Bourgeois Jr. to be electronically monitored and held on $10,000 bond.
The couple, who reportedly live on the 4700 block of South Western Ave., have had interactions with police before. On three separate occasions since 2003, Arturo Montesdeoca has been arrested on domestic battery or battery charges, though charges in all three cases were dropped.
