The San Fernando mine explosion in Antioquia, Colombia death toll continues to rise, with the discovery of additional bodies the toll now stands at 18 as of Friday. Government officials now list the missing as 53 miners though it was reported earlier that 62 were missing. Hope for a recovery of live miners has diminished and the search is now being described as a recovery effort. It is believed an accumulation of gas in the mine caused the late night explosion last Wednesday.
