From pantless pants to skimpy bathing suits you had it all at Colombiamoda Fashion Fair that closed on Thursday. Audiences saw established fashion brands like Maaji, Leonisa, and Agua Bendita highlight their new designs. While local designers Silvia Therassi and Santacruz were greeted with thunderous applause. Latin American fave designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, did not disappoint with her swim line that had a lot of color but little fabric.
Colombiamoda attempts to promote foreign interest in Colombia’s textiles and designs. Medellin, Colombia where the fashion fair is held is the country’s main exporter of knit and woven textiles and employs over 200,000 people.
The wild and wacky also found a home here with creations from fashion students from the Colegiatura Colombiana and the Young Designers Group. One of our favorites were the plaster mask dresses that can cover an ample back side.
