A three-year-old Colombian boy is recovering after emergency crews worked tirelessly to rescue him from a sewer.

When Jeampier disappeared, his family called police. Rescuers searched the sewer twice before they finally found him on Wednesday.
Civil defense member Herson Montenegro told the Telegraph he was glad they decided to do a second sweep of the sewer system.
‘It was an intense search,’ said Montenegro. ‘Thank God we found the boy in one of the sweeps of the area. We had already searched the sewers the first time and we hadn’t found him. Thank God the second time we searched, the boy was there. He was close to being swept into a hole in the sewer.’
When found, rescuers quickly climbed down a manhole, grabbed Jeampier, and pulled him up. The toddler was handed to a woman who ran him to an emergency vehicle, which quickly departed. He was taken to a local hospital and is said to be recovering well.
