Songbird Christina Aguilera has announced her engagement to long time boyfriend, Matt Rutler, via Twitter.
The 33-year-old singer and ‘The Voice’ judge has been dating Rutler for over three years. The couple met when Aguilera was starring in the movie ‘Burlesque’ and Rutler was a production assistant for the movie.
The Valentine day engagement was announced on the star’s Twitter account with the tweets:, “He asked” and “I said…..” followed by a picture of the massive engagement ring with a tropical retreat as the backdrop.
The engagement was no surprise. Aguilera once described Rutler as “the love of my life, and I adore him.” Rutler IMDb page identifies him as an assistant director and guitarist for the Nate Modd Band. He is believed to be five years younger than the Latina singer.
Aguilera was married once before, for five years, to musician Jordan Bratman. The couple has a 6-year-old son named Max.
