Mexican Foreign Relations Secretary Patricia Espinosa met with Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird in Ottawa to discuss bilateral affairs and the upcoming G-20 Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Espinosa met with Baird on Wednesday as Ottawa hosts the 8th annual Mexico-Canada Alliance, the main forum for bilateral dialogue and cooperation.
Baird and Espinosa also discussed security issues, consular affairs and other North American matters, a Canadian Foreign Ministry spokesman told Efe.
“The foreign ministers analyzed central issues in the broader bilateral agenda, as well as regional and global matters of shared interest,” the Mexican Foreign Relations Secretariat said.
The meeting was also attended by Canadian Minister of State of Foreign Affairs for the Americas and Consular Affairs Diane Ablonczy.
Baird praised the strong relations between Canada and Mexico, and he thanked Espinosa for being a great friend of Canada.
