Actress Cameron Diaz traveled to Mexico to promote her new film, “Sex Tape,” in which Jason Segel co-stars.

“Sex Tape” is a raunchy comedy that shows “how couples that have been married many years can suddenly need to once again find their intimacy,” Diaz told Televisa.

The film “is a way of encouraging couples, not to do a homemade porn video, but to find new ways of communicating,” the 41-year-old actress said.

Diaz, who plays Annie, and Segel, who plays her husband, Jay, are a married couple who try to bring some of the passion of the early years of their relationship back into the marriage.

Annie suggests using an iPad to make a sex tape based on British writer Alex Comfort’s “The Joy of Sex” (1972), but technology creates a nightmare for the couple, who end up having to track down the video when it accidentally gets posted on the Internet.

The stars, who previously worked together in “Bad Teacher,” attended the film’s red carpet premiere in Mexico City on Wednesday night.

Diaz said she felt at the top of her form and proud of what she had accomplished in her career.
